We wanted to give an update to our community regarding the upcoming 2020 PyData conferences. We have been closely monitoring the situation and to help ensure the safety of our community given the threat of the COVID-19 virus, the following in-person events have been postponed to 2021:
- PyData Miami
- PyData Amsterdam
- PyData LA
- PyData London
- PyData Berlin
While disappointing, we are taking this action based on the most up to date information available, and in order to help do our part to curb the spread of COVID-19. Ticket holders and sponsors of these events will be contacted separately.
Please subscribe to the monthly PyData newsletter for updates, and consider making a donation to help further our mission of making scientific computing more open and accessible. NumFOCUS is the nonprofit organization that fiscally sponsors 33 Open Source Projects and organizes community-driven educational programs for users and developers of open source scientific tools. Donations from PyData conferences account for a significant portion of our annual operating budget and enable us to continue to give back to the open source community.
We appreciate everyone understanding that, while not ideal, this decision is in the best interest and health of our community.
