Thank you, Matt!

The NumFOCUS team expresses our sincere thanks to Matt Turk for his service on the Board of Directors. Matt first joined the board in 2015 and is stepping down this spring after three years helping to lead the organization through a period of rapid growth.

Matt is an assistant professor at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in the School of Information Sciences. He has worked on data analysis and visualization in open source for many years and is PI for the recent NSF grant awarded to yt. Matt will continue to be actively involved with NumFOCUS as project lead for yt; he will also provide support for the Sustainability Program.

After leaving the Board, Matt plans to spend more time with his new daughter, Rosabelle.
