New Staff Hired to Support NumFOCUS Growth
NumFOCUS is pleased to announce that we have hired two new staff members to support the rapid growth of our organization.
Lisa Martin joins us as Financial Administrator; she will support and assist Lynn Brubaker, NumFOCUS Project Finance Manager, with a variety of financial-related tasks for the organization. We are pleased to have hired additional staff to meet the financial admin needs of our growing cohort of sponsored projects (currently there are 26!).
Walker Chabbott joins the team as Events and Digital Marketing Coordinator; he will support and assist Jim Weiss, NumFOCUS Events Manager, with both PyData events and conferences for NumFOCUS sponsored projects. Walker will also take over responsibility for a variety of NumFOCUS digital marketing activities to inform and grow our community of supporters. We are excited to have additional staff to support our popular and growing events series, proceeds of which go directly back to fund the NumFOCUS mission.

Lisa Martin joined NumFOCUS in 2019 as Financial Administrator. She brings with her experience in finance, copy editing, and communications, working in a variety of different organizations. Prior to joining NumFOCUS she worked as a bookkeeper, volunteer, board member and executive assistant. Lisa has a degree in Economics from Willamette University.
Walker Chabbott (pronounced “sha-BEAU”) joined NumFOCUS in 2019 as the Events & Digital Marketing Coordinator. He’s a graduate of New York University where he received a B.S. in Digital Media & Communication. Walker was heavily involved in student government at NYU, where he planned a variety of events ranging from student conferences to large scale endeavors, such as a 1000+ gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. A digital native, Walker loves social channels and driving online interaction. Walker also has a background in UX Design and spends time outside of work freelancing for small local businesses.
