Google Summer of Code with NumFOCUS

Google Summer of Code (GSoC) sponsors students to work full-time for 3 months on open source projects during the summer (in the northern hemisphere), supervised by a senior contributor from the mentoring organization. Google Summer of Code students frequently go on to become active contributors and core maintainers of our projects.

NumFOCUS is proud to serve as an umbrella organization for Google Summer of Code (GSoC), helping connect aspiring open-source contributors with our diverse ecosystem of scientific computing projects.

Each year, multiple NumFOCUS-sponsored and affiliated projects participate in GSoC, mentoring contributors as they work on meaningful open-source improvements.
